Reach the desk
The editorial desk reads everything that arrives, and it answers the messages it can answer usefully. Below is what to send where, and what will get a polite refusal.
How to get in touch
- Corrections and factual disputes — the fastest route to a change. Quote the page and the sentence, and say what the correct position is. If you can point at the operator's or regulator's own page, the fix usually happens the same week.
- Press and research questions — say what you are writing and what you need. The desk will answer on the record about how this site sources its material.
- Operators and platform representatives — if a page describes your product incorrectly, write in. Product descriptions here are built from public pages, and public pages change.
Contact addresses are published in the site footer and in the page metadata rather than inline, which keeps them out of the worst of the scraping traffic.
What the desk can help with
- Clarifying what a term on this site means.
- Pointing you at the regulator or register that answers a legality question for your country.
- Fixing something this site got wrong.
What the desk cannot help with
Some requests arrive often enough to be worth answering here.
- Account problems. OptionLens has no access to any trading platform's systems. A frozen withdrawal, a verification hold or a closed account has to go to that operator's support, and if that fails, to the relevant regulator or ombudsman.
- Trading advice. No one here will tell you whether to open a position, which expiry to pick, or whether a given asset is going up. That is not a policy of caution, it is a limit on what an explainer desk is competent to say.
- Recovery services. If you have lost money, be aware that "fund recovery" firms who approach victims are themselves a well-documented second-stage fraud. This desk will not refer you to one.
- Guest posts and link placements. The site does not publish sponsored articles or sell links inside editorial pages.
Response times
This is a small desk. Corrections are prioritised, and everything else is answered when there is time. If a message goes unanswered for a fortnight, sending it again is reasonable rather than rude.
Before you write
A good share of incoming questions are already answered on the site. If your question is about what the instrument is, start with the basics; if it is about legality, the regulatory pages cover the EU, the UK and the US separately, because the answers genuinely differ.
